Join us in the 2026 virtual MBS Sandbox to play with all things adaptive yoga! Each month we start with a general theme, but where we go from there is up to you!
During our sessions, we’ll address those lingering teaching questions, share stories, and receive the support you need from others with their hands in the river prana – or sandbox, as it were. Come and play with poses, explore deeper concepts, and hang out with your adaptive yoga community while we share ways to bring this important work into the world.
Join us for the whole hour or drop in as your schedule allows. You are welcome to join us for one session or sign up for the whole year and let’s see what we can create in the sandbox! Offered at no charge and available to anyone who has studied adaptive yoga with Mind Body Solutions. Share the sensation of support in this online community dedicated to bringing hope and potential to people of every ability.
We meet the second Thursday of every month at 12PM Central Time.
Register for the series HERE.
You are invited to join any and all of the sessions as you like!
2026 Themes and Dates
Thursdays from 12 – 1PM Central Time
February 12, 2026 | Welcomings and Introductions
The most challenging part of a yoga class is often just getting started! What are some ways we can welcome and orient new students to our classes? Let’s discuss the ways we invite people to the mat!
March 12, 2026 | Sensations Before Shapes
What does the phrase “Yoga does not discriminate, yoga poses do.” How can this guide our teaching? In this session we will discuss teaching asana from the inside out.
April 9, 2026 | The Art of Invitations
You’ve got the date, the time and the place, next on the agenda is generating a description for your class. How can the language you use to describe your class invite people in? Is it useful to use specific details or helpful to employ generalities and is there a way to blend the two? Let’s talk “talk”!
May 14, 2026 | Honoring Awareness
Let’s discuss the difference between facilitating student experience and trying to control it. What can you do to remain a guide and not step into the role of a “yoga director?”
June 11, 2026 | Practical Matters
Deciding how to deliver your classes is one of the first questions you will need to consider. Will you be teaching online or in person or hybrid? How you find accessible spaces? How will you make technology available to your students? Let’s discuss logistics!
July 9, 2026 | Pose Play Part One
It’s time to play! These are, after all, the Sandbox Sessions! Bring your favorite pose to the group and let’s share ideas on the zillions of ways we can teach it!
August 13, 2026 | Pacing
How can you change up the pacing of your classes to include moments of flow and moments of stillness? What is the importance of transitions? Paying attention to the rhthym of your adaptive classes is key. In this session we will discuss the importance of pacing in your classes.
September 10, 2026 | Off the Mat and Into the World
Share your stories of students bringing their yoga practice “off the mat and into the world” and how has yoga shown up in your students’ everyday lives.
October 8, 2026 | Using What You Have
What do a box of Kleenex, a dog leash and a rolled up bath towel have in common? They are all everyday items that students can use to support their yoga practice. Bring your favorite ordinary object and show us your ideas!
November 12 | Pose Play Part Two
It’s time to jump back in the sandbox! Bring a pose you love to teach or one that you find a little more challenging and we let’s discuss the many ways one could approach it in class!
December 10 | End of Year Reflections
Time to party! Let’s get together to reflect on our year of teaching adaptive yoga and to share what we are looking forward to exploring in the new year!
