In this series of experiential, online gatherings, the MBS community comes together to explore, share, and support the ‘inside’ story of disability. Living with a disability fosters unique insight and wisdom, and this is a forum through which it can be shared. Each session presents a conversation theme framed up by our founder Matthew Sanford, but collectively discussed within the group at large. The resulting conversations are powerful, heartfelt, and helpful. Each session also features a yoga practice inspired by the conversation theme. These gatherings are intended to revolve around the experience of disability, but everyone is welcome and there is no fee to attend.
I look forward to seeing you soon…

When Words Fail…Stories Emerge
March 11 / 11 AM CT
Words often fail to describe the ‘real’ experience of disability. Too readily, the hero’s journey becomes the default story – disability becomes something to overcome. For most, this is not a helpful archetype. Join Matthew and world-renowned Irish storyteller Clare Murphy as they discuss the transformative power of story beyond the hero’s journey. Clare is a story master of story, both old and new, and the myriad ways they can transform our experience. If we are lucky, she will tell a couple.
What is Transformation?
May 13 / 11 AM CT
As a non-profit, Mind Body Solutions aims to help transform trauma, loss, and disability into hope and potential. For our three 2026 remaining installments of our series, “Yoga, Disability, and Transformation,” we focus in on the process of transformation. Join our founder Matthew Sanford in our May 13th session for an initial, table-setting conversation that explores the overarching theme: what is transformation? What might be some illuminating examples from nature? What is the relationship between transformation and healing? And finally what does it even mean to transform trauma, loss, and disability? As always, there will be a closing yoga practice inspired by our discussion.
