2026 Yoga, Disability and Transformation
November 18 @ 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM CST

In this series of experiential, online gatherings, the MBS community comes together to explore, share, and support the ‘inside’ story of disability. Living with a disability fosters unique insight and wisdom, and this is a forum through which it can be shared. Each session presents a conversation theme framed up by our founder Matthew Sanford, but collectively discussed within the group at large. The resulting conversations are powerful, heartfelt, and helpful. Each session also features a yoga practice inspired by the conversation theme. These gatherings are intended to revolve around the experience of disability, but everyone is welcome and there is no fee to attend.
Session Four | November 18 | 11-12:30 PM Central Time
On Consciousness: A Preview
In this year’s final session, our founder Matthew Sanford shares core themes from his current manuscript, Meditations of a Broken Yogi: A Scout Wolf on Bodies and Consciousness. Participants gain insights into the nature of our consciousness, the experience of emptiness as a sensation, and the transformative potential of trauma, loss, and disability. It’ll be a fun, interesting 90-minute session, covering everything from stick-figure drawings to the underlying aims of yoga practice. Oh, and of course, we’ll do some yoga poses.
