Julie Champ

Board of Directors

Keenly passionately about all things money, Julie began her career with Ernst & Young (8 years), then did a 10 year stint with 2 fast-growth/entrepreneurial companies learning that transformative change can indeed be fun!  She returned to public accounting practice with former buddies from E&Y in their niche firm, Barthe & Wahrman, where she developed a compliance practice (audits, reviews, etc.) and then gradually expanded her work in the area of Acquisitions consulting and Commercial Real Estate.  Her work (coined the “Count Your Blessings”) focused her financial talents into the non-profit sector.  She first outsourced the financial management for the Citizens’ League for 5 years, learning a great deal!

Concurrently, she has been deeply involved with the church (Mayflower Community UCC in South Minneapolis), chairing the last 3 Capital Appeals and serving for 4 years as Resource Development.  In 2013, she became the Director of Finance and Administration at Westminster Presbyterian Church in downtown Minneapolis – taking the leap to accept this dream job which is fully utilizing her combined talents in the world of Church expansion and Finance.  Westminster’s bold project is transforming the city block between Nicollet and Marquette at 12th Street and creating new ministry vision in the City.

Julie has raised 2 great kids and has 2 grandchildren as well here in the Twin Cities.  She is also a lifelong organist/pianist, is pursuing Creative Writing more intensely (including MindBodyStorytelling) and continues to be transformed by her yoga practice every day.
