SUMMARY:2023 Yoga\, Disability\, and Transformation - Being Heard by Those Who Can't Listen
DESCRIPTION:Too often\, living with a disability is like being in a community of one\, even among our closest friends and family. Often our loved ones are the worst listeners because they want to help so badly. This problem of not being heard only amplifies when we interact with the culture at large…and we also know yelling not only makes matters worse but also wears us out. In this session\, we share stories of epic successes and failures when attempting to make ourselves truly heard by people who cannot easily listen. Our shared yoga practice focuses on realizing the body’s grounding space\, so we do not lose our minds in this communication abyss.
